Do you have dreams of writing a novel, getting it published, and perhaps selling the rights of your story for a Hollywood film or mini-series? Do you believe you are too young to even think about writing a novel? Did you know that the YA (Young Adult) market is the fastest growing genre, and that more and more teenagers are getting published? We get right to the business of writing in this course because we believe every person has a story to tell. We teach you character development, plot and story evolution, pacing, dialogue, and other essential elements of writing. You will develop an outline for a novel in this course.
Space technology is one the fastest growing tech segments in the world as lower costs are enabling a flood of new entrants to build and launch their own satellites. Pre-university students who attend our two-week courses will be exposed to seminar-style breakout sessions during which our Tutors apply design thinking methods to encourage inclusive small-group projects.
The Oxford IQ Academy hires faculty from major universities to deliver lectures on key topics in a lecture hall. Students have the opportunity to ask questions. The lectures will form part of the seminar discussions.
In the real world, professionals work in collaborative teams to solve problems, create product or service lines, or create programmes for the public sector. Students learn to problem-solve and are taught valuable project management skills in small groups. Student groups present their projects at the end of the two-weeks.
Working with his or her assigned tutor, each student will work on a small-scale individual project or paper that demonstrates independent thought. A student can use the Scholar's Project in university applications.
Upon successful completion of the course, each student receives a certificate of achievement. We follow up at the end of the summer by sending students grade reports written by the tutors and instructors, and signed by the Programme Director.
